Baby Massage and More

Tiny Toes Bumps and Babies CIC (TTB&B) is a not for profit business.

I wanted to take a moment to introduce to you the services I offer and who i offer them too.

It is important to TTB&B that the whole family is supported through pregnancy, baby's first year and beyond.

Our face to face classes are held in Derwentside and Weardale in County Durham, however, at the time of writing I am still unable to offer these services in the midst of the Covid-19 restrictions.

Despite the broad range of services offered not only locally but now nationally (and internationally) The team at TTB&B consists of 1 - me!!

My name is Alison Fraser, I am a registered Midwife and Mum to 3 - my story is not one for this post, however I do believe it is important to share background and i will therefore aim to post next week with a 'Face behind the Business' post.

Take a look a little deeper into my website(s) or social media to see what is offered, the scope is far and wide. Today I wanted to share a little with you about the services that are on offer not only face to face (when allowed) but remotely via groups and video links.

Antenatally it is important to me that antenatal classes are small and in a relaxed and friendly environment. Every woman or couple wants different information to the next. While some questions might be the same others may not be and therefore it is important that my classes are adaptable to ensure that you get the most from your session, be it one to one or small group, face to face or video call.

I also offer bespoke antenatal classes for siblings and preparing pets for the arrival of a tiny person and all their kit and kaboodle.

I have previously been approached to support couples with concerns and anxieties pre-conceptually. I am more than happy to support women and couples pre-conceptually on request. I am pleased to say that those I have met with have since gone on to conceive and have coped through pregnancy beautifully. This is by no means down to me, however, if I have helped answer questions, to ease concerns and anxieties even a little bit then I have done my job.

Aromatherapy which I have already blogged a little about falls in to the antenatal category. Many of my aromatherapy clients visit me in pregnancy to help their bodies cope with morning sickness or aches and pains, anxiety or sleep. I also see people to help prepare them for labour by creating blend suitable for them.

Despite most of my clients being within their antenatal period I see people at any stage of their life and take particular not of medical conditions and medication which may have an impact on which oils we are able to blend for a purpose.

Baby massage is where it all started for TTB&B, during face to face classes mums and babies can join us just as soon as they feel able to do so after birth, I have welcomed babies of 2 weeks into class who have settled beautifully, but the 'right time' is a personal choice and as long as neither mum nor baby have any health concerns to discuss prior to beginning class you are welcome to join at any time. My face to face classes work on a rolling programme meaning that you do not have to book for a full block if you do not want to, you can start in the middle of term and you can continue coming to class for as long as you would like to.

Online I host a baby massage group which has access to over 50 baby massage videos - this is priced at just £20 for 6 months access.

Keep your eyes peeled for two new baby massage style classes coming when face to face resumes.

Parent Support - When face to face is allowed I have a parent support group which runs monthly in the remote Weardale village of St Johns Chapel. The aim of this group is to bring parents in pregnancy or the early years together from neighbouring villages to socialise with parenting peers while also having the opportunity to seek advice and support from a healthcare professional. Living in a rural area (while amazing) can be socially isolating, parenthood can be socially isolating and therefore this group which I hold at 'The Chatterbox Cafe' goes some way to knocking down some of those boundaries.

I have attached a video which shows some of the services on offer through TTB&B remotely while we are unable to meet face to face or if you live further afield. Please feel free to get in touch for more information.
